Rachel Tutwiler
Rachel is a great sports enthusiast. She participates in swimming, basketball, volleyball and a bowling league.
Rachel was 12-year-old Landmark graduate who just completed the 7th grade. She would be going to a University of North Carolina baseball camp
this summer of 2003. Rachel said that the Landmark Forum made a big difference in one of the most important concerns of her life: she had a breakthrough in how well she played in her many sport activities.
Before the Landmark Forum, when I
was playing in a game I was always telling myself, “I wish I hadn’t done
that”, or “This is what I should have done,” but now I say, “I’ll
do it the next time.” Now I don’t take my mistakes so seriously. I’ve
noticed that I’ve had breakthroughs in my performance in all my sports.
The Landmark Forum has made a real and immediate difference in how well I
play. I used to resent being told what to do by my coaches. I wanted to do
it my way. Now I’ve learned how to use what they have to offer. I listen
to what they tell me and make it work and end up with delightful
accomplishments.
Fred Tutwiler
Rachel's dad, Fred, was a Landmark Seminar Leader based in Raleigh-Durham. He was moved by the difference that he had seen in Rachel after she did the Landmark Forum for Young People.
She has a lot more self-confidence.
She’s more sure of herself in all areas. And she’s more responsible.
These are the two aspects of transformation in Rachel I have seen and
marveled so far. She got the distinction about integrity and following
through on the things she says she will do. I also see a big difference now
in how she responds to her coaches and teachers. She has acquired a mature
listening and increased her capacity for having fun.

Lily Brown
Lily had what she considers a huge breakthrough that makes a tremendous difference in her life. Lily is 12 and in the 7th grade. Before she did the Landmark Forum for Young People last summer, she was taking medication for ADHD (attention deficit hyper activity.) As a result of her participation in the Landmark Forum, she was able to stop taking the pills and is now enjoying a life without medication.
In the Landmark Forum I got the
distinction about the past, present and future. I can’t undo the past. I
am always living in the present, not the past or the future. Most of the
things I say about the past are my stories. The truth is the truth, but I
can interpret it to make it mean something different altogether. Now
whenever I do this, I can see that I am doing it - and have the choice to
not do it. I realize now that I don’t have to worry about the future. I
never thought of it that way before. I love this new freedom!
Jim
Protzman
Jim deeply appreciated the
opportunity for relatedness that came from taking the “Beyond Fitness”
seminar with his daughter, Lily Brown.
This particular
seminar has put healthy eating on the family agenda. Taking the Landmark
seminar together has added a new dimension to our lives. It gave us a
structure to act upon and realize new possibilities that we have invented.
It empowered us to work as partners together. And it has given us an
opportunity to share our points of view and listen to each other like never
before.

Jack
Carruth was
eleven years old when he did the Landmark Forum
For Young People. He distinguished that he too, has his own point of
view. Read about the benefits of the
Landmark Forum as Jack (11), Mattie (14), Josh (16), Marianne and
Mike Carruth share themselves with us.

Simone Pullar-Wells
of Melbourne, Australia, shared how in the
Landmark Forum for Teens she was empowered to let go of her habit of
lying as she went through her rebellious stage as a teenager. She
discovered she earned the respect of others by doing so and more
importantly, her own self respect.

James
Tyson: "In the Landmark Forum for Teens, I discovered an
extraordinary way to complete the past and create a new possibility for
my life. I have found a way to communicate and to relate with my
parent that empowers me. I have the chance to redefine what is
really cool based on what is important for my life and my
future."
The Landmark Forum for Young People is designed
to tap that freedom and creativity that are our children's birthright. The
course equips young people to think for themselves in ways that expand
their accomplishment, their relationships, their sense of themselves, and
their ability to contribute.
