Landmark Forum Leader Jerome Downes with the graduates who assisted at The First Ever Landmark Forum in Singapore, September 2003.Landmark Forum Leader Jerome Downes led The First Ever Landmark Forum in Singapore on September 19, 20, 21 and 23, 2003. Participants and graduates alike reported major breakthroughs beyond what they thought possible ... It will take years to fully appreciate the scope of the transformation that has taken place at this one extraordinary weekend in so many lives.

Here are some of the milestones, as our amazing Singapore Team, a grass root graduates' initiative - nurtured by the inspiring leadership of Jerome Downes - successfully made real the most challenging undertaking: to bring the Landmark Forum into a new country. A new conversation -  the Transformation of Life itself - was introduced and established in this one of the most successful nations in Asia.

On Tuesday, September 23, 2003
Jerome Downes led the first Evening Session in Singapore in front of 450 people, 288 of them were our invited guests, more than 80 of whom registered that evening for our next course in February 2004. It was a grand celebration for transformation, when the graduating participants could not wait for their turn to share the breakthroughs they have gotten from the First Ever Landmark Forum in Singapore.

September 2003
The Leadership Team in Singapore has been as busy as they could be - as hundreds of details to prepare for the Landmark Forum suddenly had to be completed. Count down to Day One, Friday, September 19 was well underway.  Meetings and trainings to attend, phone calls to make, forms and lists of things to do - to check and double check.

... And they were excited … anxious to find out how their dreams, so long in the making now about to become a reality in Singapore! We thanked The Straits Times Interactive, the website of the prominent newspaper of the region that ran a great Community Announcement about us!

August 2003

  • From left: Ming Pang, Poorani Thanusha. Ramesh Ramachandra, Midori Tai and Sharon Tan at the welcome dinner for Midori Tai, August 2003.As the conversation got louder, more graduates came to be part of the Leadership Team for the Landmark Assisting Program in Singapore. From only four graduates in January 2003, about 20 graduates regularly met and were in action to generate The First Ever Landmark Forum in Singapore by August 2003.
  • The team gained two Landmark Introduction Leaders, Ming Pang of Perth Center and Vera Lee of New York Center, as well as Bharti Shamugam of Introduction Leaders Program Bangalore, India.
  • At a Lunch Meeting in Singapore.A milestone for the project: Midori Tai, the much beloved Asst. Center Manager of Landmark Education Tokyo, took charge of the Introduction Leaders Program in Singapore and came to train the graduates. At the end of this training, Poorani Thanusha, Sharon Tan, Julia Ng and Craig Griffin were designated by Midori Tai as Landmark Introduction Leaders in Singapore.
  • Midori Tai, Asst. Center Manager of Landmark Education Tokyo, leading a training session in Singapore, August 2003.We had a breakthrough with our introduction in Singapore. At one of the sessions all seven guests plus another one registered, ending with 114 % registration's statistic.

July 23, 2003
Landmark Forum Leader Jerome Downes came to lead the second Special Evening in Singapore with even a greater success than the first one. This time the team was better trained and all the guests arrived and were seated early! Dozens of astounding stories about personal breakthroughs from guests and graduates went out immediately after the Special Evening in Singapore…

June-July 2003
Ramesh and the team went through intensive training and discovered “on the field” what it took to bring the Landmark Forum into a new country. Lots of breakdowns and growing pains and yet everyone persisted to fulfill on what they said they were up to.
*Poorani Thanusha stepped up to be in charge of the team when Ramesh had to travel out of the country.
*Sharon Tan, who expressed an interest to participate long before the team was formed, actually now took on the accountability as the Registration Fulfillment Team Leader in Singapore.
*A documentary film about Landmark Education, Champion of Industry, in which among many other graduates Dr. Vijaya Nair was featured, was made accessible on line through www.iLovePossibility.info

May 2003, Two milestones of the project:

  • On May 12, 2003 Ramesh Ramachandra on behalf of Jerome Downes at Landmark Education Japan and Asia formally announced that the First Ever Landmark Forum in Singapore was scheduled for September 19-23, 2003. The cost, location and other details were made public for the first time; and registration into the course began.
  • Landmark Forum Leader Jerome Downes with the graduates who assisted at The First Ever Landmark Forum in Singapore, May 2003.On Wednesday, May 26, 2003, Landmark Forum Leader Jerome Downes arrived in Singapore to lead the First Special Evening. This evening was a great success, attended by 149 guests, our friends and relatives.  In the first three weeks after the official announcement, 41 people have registered into the First Landmark Forum in Singapore.

April 2003
At the Landmark Assistant Meeting in Singapore, July 2003.At the end of April the team accumulated 101 Letter of Intent, thus Ramesh and her team of graduates in Singapore had accomplished the first stage of the project. The conversation shifted to how to manage to turn these promises into registrations upon the pending official announcement of the First Landmark Forum in Singapore. The team was all excited and very anxious as they planned for the arrival of Jerome Downes for their first official meetings in Singapore.

March 2003
The team got in action by sharing themselves and by the end of March, they accumulated 61 Letter of Intent from the people who promised to register to do the First Landmark Forum in Singapore. Ramesh, together with Kingsley Gonsalves, Lynelle Kerr, Poorani Tanusha and Julia Ng started regular group meeting, led introductions and accumulated signed Letter of Intent. Ramesh also arranged the first of the many coaching calls for the team with Han Dana and Vijaya Nair in the US.

February 2003
Ramesh Ramachandra went to meet Jerome Downes who was leading the First Ever Landmark Forum in Bangkok and was designated to be the Point Person in Singapore. Ramesh, together with the new graduates, Poorani Thanusha and Lynelle Kerr, started regular group meetings in Singapore, led Introductions and accumulated the signed Letter of Intent.
The Landmark Forum in Singapore, the article about Ramesh Ramachandra, and the invitation to sign the Letter of Intent went on line at www.iLovePossibility.info

January 2003
Ramesh Ramachandra welcoming one of her guests at a community event, January 2003.Ramesh Ramachandra wrote a formal request to Jerome Downes for the position of the Point Person for The Landmark Forum in Singapore. Ramesh promised to build a local team of graduates and to deliver the condition of satisfaction, which among others, was to have 100 signed Letter of Intent, each a promise to register, if and when Landmark Education opened the first Landmark Forum in Singapore.

Ramesh registered Poorani Thanusha, Lynelle Kerr and several others who went to do the Landmark Forum in Manila, to start building the core team for generating the Landmark Forum in Singapore.

Dr. Vijaya Nair came to lead an Introduction in Singapore, where the first 14 Letter of Intent were signed.

November 2002
Dr. Vijaya Nair and Ramesh Ramachandra introduciing the Landmark Forum in Singapore, January, 2003.Dr. Vijaya Nair who was then in the Introduction Leaders Program in New York Center, wrote a request to Jerome Downes, Landmark Education Executive of Asia, for his support to bring the Landmark Forum to Singapore. Jerome Downes who was then leading the First Special Evening for the Landmark Forum in Hong Kong, directed Han Dana to assist Ramesh Ramachandra to look into what it would take to build a team of graduates in Singapore.

A three-way initial phone conversation followed immediately in which Vijaya in New York, Ramesh Ramachandra in Singapore, and Han Dana looked at the many obstacles - then declared the possibility of the First Ever Landmark Forum in Singapore by the end of 2003.

How does the Landmark Forum happen to be offered where you are?

The Landmark Forum is made available by Landmark Education in a new region only by the request from Landmark graduates.

These requests are demonstrated by graduates' registration of their family, friends and colleagues to support a viable operation of Landmark Education in a new region in making available the technology of Transformation, Possibility and Enrollment.

In the best of situations, Landmark Education will give its condition of satisfaction for the graduates to fulfill.

This page attempted to chronicle the events that led to the realization of the First Ever Landmark Forum in Singapore

It is a journey unlike any other, and in Singapore it documented human greatness in bringing a dream into a reality. The very best of all dreams: making available transformation to your own community.

The First Landmark Forum in the Philippines.

Landmark graduatte Sharon Tan of Singapore."After I did the Landmark Forum in Melbourne, Australia, my heart was blossoming with love for my husband, Joe Yin, the man of my life. It was quite a transformation. Only six months prior to it I was having lots of arguments with him!

"After I took on the accountabilities of the Finance and Registration Fulfillment Team Leader, I had another major breakthrough. I distinguished how I had settled for a life that had been quite lack-luster. It was so transparent I hardly noticed it. This has opened up a new future for me!"
(Who accomplished above average result in her first ever accountability of Registration Fulfillment!)

Landmark Seminar Leader Poorani Thanusha."I did the Landmark Forum in Manila in January 2003, at first just because I knew my sister Ramesh will need more graduates in Singapore to be on her team. But I have gotten more than I expected.

"I am passionate to bring transformation to the lives of children, parents and families. After the Landmark Forum, this vision became alive with unprecedented clarity and opportunities constantly opening up. I have organized workshops for parents and teachers that have been very well received.

"I took on to being the Assistant Point Person because I am committed to have a great Landmark Center in operation in Singapore. That is a condition we will satisfy, and to produce the Landmark Forum for Young People and Teens in Singapore.

"Being part of the Leadership Team for the Landmark Forum in Singapore has given me invaluable hands-on training in being a leader. I am the possibility of the Extraordinary Clearing For Transformation and for all to live a life they love and living it powerfully!"
Poorani Thanusha
(who does great work to keep the operation going whenever Ramesh has to travel out of the country!)

Landmark Point Person in Singapore Ramesh Ramachandra with Midori Tai, Asst. Center Manager of Tokyo."I was so moved by what I have gotten, and present to the magnificence of life when I was at my own Landmark Forum in Perth, Australia. I knew then I had to find a way to bring transformation to my community where I lived in Singapore.

"Many times it has been quite a challenge for me to be the leader of this team, at which moments I deeply appreciated the priceless training that I received from Landmark Forum Leader Jerome Downes. It has been indeed quite an honor to lead a team of the most incredible graduates to bring the work of Landmark Education to Singapore".
Ramesh Ramachandra
(Who broke many records in her performance as the Point Person!)
