Ramesh Bhaskaran
Causing the Demand for
Transformation.
Ramesh Bhaskaran was really impressed by the Landmark Forum he took in 1996 and was so inspired by the work of Landmark Education that in 2001 he attended the Introduction Leaders Program. This is an intensive six months course available for Landmark graduates who are interested - among its many other benefits - to be leaders in the game of causing transformation in people's lives.
During this program Ramesh promised himself to make the work of Landmark Education available to the people in his hometown, Chennai, the fourth largest city in India. Otherwise people had to make a seven hours trip to Bangalore to participate. He knew what this was all about. Before he completed the program Ramesh got into a road accident that took him out of action for months.
Remarkably, his stand for transformation won the day. After fully recovering, Ramesh reviewed and completed the
Introduction Leaders Program in 2003. He went on to be the coach for the participants from Chennai. He was causing the demand for transformation in his life and in his community. In April 2004 Ramesh was accepted in the Landmark Seminar Program.
As he trained to fulfill his dream - to have a life that one loves available to the people in Chennai - Ramesh had to look at, confront, and give up the automatic comments he had about himself. He opined that people did not listen to him. He thought he could not relate to and inspire people to act on their commitment. He was sure and convinced that he tended to act like a lone warrior rather than being a great leader of his team. He thought that there was no substantial progress made in Chennai.
Of course many people who knew him did not think this was true. Many graduates thought Ramesh were really great and they aspired to be a leader like him. They saw Ramesh as one of the leaders who were accountable and reliable. They made the point, one of
many others, that in May 2003 Ramesh empowered his community to have a successful event led by Gopal Rao, a first in Chennai by a
Landmark Forum
Leader, with 126 people attending.
But such was the power of the Landmark Methodology that finally even Ramesh himself had to admit that regardless what he thought was "right" about himself, his dream were coming true. His stand was altering reality.
On July 7th, 2005 something unprecedented happened in the community. The Landmark graduates got together at a very happy occasion led by Mahesh Nambiar, the much beloved Center Manager of Landmark Education in Bangalore. At this event a very special team of people who assist was created and the first ever Landmark Forum In Chennai, India, was launched and announced. This historic course
took place on November 25, 26, 27 and 29, 2005.
The Landmark graduates celebrated with unrestrained joy at the event. When he realized that there were 55 people attending, Ramesh himself found his heart was beating fast like a racecar. He remembered there were only a handful Landmark graduates just
three years ago in Chennai when he took this stand. He was moved and absolutely grateful to
the structure of the Landmark Bangalore Center and to each and everyone who made this possible.
But the game was not over in Chennai, in fact, for many graduates it began to sink in that the game had just started. They invite all the graduates to take this incredible opportunity to play with them for the unimaginable success
BEYOND this first ever Landmark Forum in Chennai, India.
They reminded us all, that if you participate with them to bring transformation of life itself to the green metropolis that is the Gateway to the South in India, wherever you live in the world, life would never again be the same. Standing upon centuries of the awesome and rich history of Mylapore, Triplicane, and Ezhambur - the future generated by what is now possible in Chennai would be incredible. So they said, and this was from those who had demonstrated that they honored their word as themselves.
