Landmark Forum in Hong Kong, China

The Possibility of A Joyful, Thriving Community

Landmark graduate Chelsea Blackburn.Chelsea Phillips

I have always thought it would be so great to have Landmark Forum in Hong Kong since I used to miss all the advantages of not having it in my life here. I still remember when I first got the news that we would speak at the conference call that brought together the graduates in Hong Kong and in the United States. I had that sinking feeling in my stomach, and then I became so excited …  I got it then that the Landmark Forum in Hong Kong would actually happen!

Landmark graduates Chelsea Blackburn and Nathan Phillips in Hong Kong.Since then I have been part of the Leadership Team in Hong Kong and breakthrough after breakthroughs have occurred to my life and me. It has been way beyond my imagination when I first started to participate. I appreciate greatly the training that Landmark Forum Leaders Jerome Downes and also Dr. Alan Weiss have provided for our community.

In June and August 2003 I put together a weekly Introduction at our home and it has greatly impacted me in my personal effectiveness. What empowers me about our team in Hong Kong is the lightness and the openness of the team, the graduates at ease stepping up being leaders, and to see the faces lit up as possibility becomes present again.

Landmark graduate Nathan Phillips.Nathan Phillips

I have been part of the Leadership Team for the Landmark Forum in Hong Kong since the very beginning. It has not always been easy for me, as the nature of the conversation for having the Landmark Forum in Hong Kong requires me to confront all things that do not work about me, some of which I try desperately to hide from. It is the support from the community that provides me the courage to let go of inauthenticity.

It is the possibility people see for themselves out of doing the Landmark Forum and the possibility graduates see for the people in their lives that inspire my passion and commitment. I am greatly privileged to participate in creating Landmark Education in Hong Kong.

Landmark graduates Nathan Phillips and Chelsea Blackburn.

Chelsea Phillips and Nathan Phillips are married to each other and they did the Landmark Forum in the United States. Both have taken many other courses from Landmark Education. Chelsea also completed the leadership-training program at the Seattle Centre while Nathan did it in the San Diego Centre and was also a coach for the program. Chelsea is an Art Teacher in Hong Kong and Nathan is a Professor of Music at the Hong Kong University.

Both Chelsea and Nathan have been part of the Leadership Team, which has been generating the Landmark Forum in Hong Kong since September 2002. They were part of the group of graduates who attended the weekly calls from Hong Kong long before the formal creation of the group – back when the Landmark Forum in Hong Kong was still a possibility – which nevertheless they were inspired to fulfill. Both of them have since continued to contribute their leadership to the team.

If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for wealth and power, but for a passionate sense of what might be, for the eye, which ever young and ardent sees the possible. Pleasure disappoints, possibility never. And what wine is so sparkling, what so fragrant, what so intoxicating as possibility! Søren Kierkegaard.
